WORLD SOUND HEALING DAY – FEB. 14, 2009

MUSIC IN OLD TOWN SERIES BEGINS WITH CONCERT, FOOD, FUN, FELLOWSHIP

Kicking off the first 2009 MUSIC IN OLD TOWN SERIES at the historic McWhorter-Greenhaw building in old town Mesquite will be world-class Indian fusion and classical music, world-class Indian food for sampling and Texas-style fellowship and fun. Beginning at 3 pm, Sunday, Feb. 15, Indian sitar master Vatsal Dave of India will join forces with Grammy Award- Winning guitarist-pianist Art Greenhaw of Mesquite for a rare performing experience, mini-concert and CD release party of the new album, LONE STAR SITAR which is available wherever records are sold in India. Joining Mr. Dave and Mr. Greenhaw is Neel Bhatt on tabla. Traditional Indian sampler cuisine will be served courtesy of India Garden.
McWhorter-Greenhaw is located 1 mile east of I-635 and Military Parkway at 105 S. Broad Street, Mesquite, 75149, across from the gazebo bandstand and Wells-Fargo Bank. But over the past few years, the singer/songwriter has reinvented himself as a Tony Award® winning Broadway composer.
His work on the music to the Broadway musical Spring Awakening has not only rejuvenated his career, it has exposed his emotional music to a whole new audience.
Duncan's second wind has led to this tour with Spring Awakening cast member Lauren Pritchard. Sheik will also be performing past hits, as well as new material from a forthcoming CD.
