Songwriting Contests

2009 GRASSY HILL KERRVILLE NEW FOLK COMPETITION – ENTRY PERIOD STARTS DECEMBER 1
We will start taking entries for New Folk on December 1.  Songwriters are given two options for submitting their songs.  They may send their CD directly to the festival office or they may submit electronically by using Sonicbids.  Either way, the official guidelines MUST be followed.
The official guidelines and entry information/form for the 2009 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters are posted on our website at www.kerrvillefolkfestival.com/newfolk.htm.  There are a few significant changes to the guidelines so be sure to read them carefully.
We will accept the first 800 entries we receive prior to March 15, 2009.  The 32 Finalists will be announced on or about April 15.

The Bay Area World Guitar Show will convene at Marin Civic Center on January 10-11, 2009, in San Rafael (a few miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge just off Highway 101, on the Avenue of the Flags).  Past Marin shows have been brisk, with lots of exhibitors and general public, with heavy trading.  If you haven't booked your booth, now is the time to ensure good placement at the show.

On January 17-18, 2009, the Los Angeles World Guitar Show comes to life at the Orange County Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa.  This perennial show is just minutes down Harbor Boulevard from the NAMM show in Anaheim on *NAMM weekend, *no affiliation.  Lots of foreign buyers, NAMM attendees, and American store owners, as  well as celebrities have shown up at this event over the years, and they do spend money.  Several of our best-attended shows have been in Orange County.
