Grammy Advocacy Day in Washington DC 4-14-2010

Have you ever wondered if one person can make a difference in Washington, D.C.? April 14-15, 2010 is your chance to learn that the answer is "yes."

The dates have been set for the largest GRAMMYs on the Hill Advocacy Day yet, and you're invited to come to the nation's capital as part of the Texas delegation. I hope you'll join us for Washington's most important advocacy event for the music community and help educate key policymakers about issues that affect musicians, songwriters and studio professionals.

Below is a tentative schedule for the event. Please note that discounted hotel blocks have been reserved (range: $225-$359). Further details about hotels and registration information will be sent to you in the coming months, but I wanted to make sure you saved the following dates on your calendar:

Wednesday, April 14, 2010
Travel to DC
6:30 p.m.: GRAMMYs on the Hill Awards Ceremony Honoring leading music creators and legislators. Past honorees have included, Senators Patrick Leahy, John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy; Representatives: John Conyers, Mary Bono-Mack, Steny Hoyer and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN); and musicians Vince Gill, Natalie Cole, Gloria Estefan, Kelly Clarkson and Quincy Jones.

8 a.m. Briefing
10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Lobbying visits
12 noon: Musical event
Travel home (flights permitting)
